Bill Brown's Home Page

I have moved !!!

I have now moved to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, USA. This link goes to my new home page. The material below relates to my time at McGill as a post-doc, the links should still work though.

Hello - welcome to Bill's home page.
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Department of McGill University. on the main campus in downtown Montreal (photograph (118kB)).

I'm in the Physical Meteorology group and use a number of remote sensing instruments to study the atmosphere. To get an idea of some of the things I do here, check out my pages on the McGill Radar Meteorology site :-

Here are three conference proceedings papers I've submitted recently :-

And here are the abstracts of some publications :-

In addition to the work I'm doing at McGill, I'm working with Prof Wayne Hocking of the University of Western Ontario on his VHF MST radar at Resolute Bay in the Canadian Artic. Since this instrument has only recently been installed and is still being developed, I don't have any plots or pictures yet.

Prior to coming to McGill I was at the Radio Atmospheric Science Center of Kyoto University in Japan and prior to that I was at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
